Since 2024 — fourth term
He was born in Bozüyük on 30 November 1952. He began primary school at Bozüyük Atatürk Primary School, completing the first three years there. He finished the last two years of primary school and secondary school at Namık Kemal School in Ankara, and attended Ankara Atatürk High School.
He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Gazi University.
He served two consecutive terms as Mayor of Bozüyük between 1989-1994 and 1994-1999. He is currently serving his fourth term as mayor.
