Kömürsu Highland lies about 28 kilometres from the centre of Bozüyük, within the boundaries of the village of Camiliyayla. It is the highest and least touched natural area in the district.
The highest point of the highland is around 1,700 metres. The vegetation is dominated by fir, black pine, beech, juniper and aspen. In summer the open ground is covered with green grass and all manner of wild flowers.
There are four springs on the highland. The total area is about 90 hectares, of which 39 are open meadow and the rest woodland.
The area is used mainly for highland tourism and trekking. The paths through the forest are well suited to walking; a common choice is to climb by the lower path from the highland house and return by the upper one.
In winter the highland is covered in snow. There are plans to develop the area into a winter tourism centre.
The route runs from Bozüyük towards the village of Camiliyayla. Part of the road is rough and uneven, though most of it is surfaced. Mobile coverage may fail at some points.
There are no facilities on the highland, so you will need to bring your own food and drink. In winter snow makes access harder; choose a high-clearance vehicle.
