Sofular Highland is a broad upland about 25 kilometres from the centre of Bozüyük, ringed by pine and fir forest. Its average height is around 1,445 metres and it has 104 hectares of open ground.
The highland is not only a natural area but also one of the district's traditional gathering places. The highland festivals held here began with the “Ottoman Migration from Winter Quarters to the Highland” festival, first organised by the Municipality of Bozüyük on 14 July 2012.
Pine and fir dominate the vegetation. In spring and summer the open meadows fill with wild flowers, daisies above all. The transitional ground where forest meets meadow is well suited to walking and photography.
The road passes in front of the Atatürk Lodge. From the dirt road in front of the lodge two roads branch off to the west; both lead first to Sofular Highland and then on to Kömürsu Highland. The left-hand road is shorter, reaching the open highland after about 5 kilometres.
Because these three stops lie along the same route, they can be visited together in a single day. The road is unsurfaced; in winter snow makes access harder.
